Great staff at all stations and the Go activity staff was just as good as any we have come across. The pool was also nice, but looks much bigger in the pics online. The jacuzzi tub in the suite took forever to fill up....
Bed was very hard/uncomfortable Service was good and everyone was friendly! The grounds are phenomenal and the staff is top notch.
Valentin Imperial Maya is between Peurto Morales and Playa del Carmen.
The water at the beach was extremely rough and there's a pretty small roped off area where you can swim. The beach offers fairly open swimming as long as there are no major winds which limits where you can swim The swimming was good in that the pool is very long and offers a quiet end away from all the afternoon activities. It also has a beach which offers good sandy beach swimming as well.
The swimming area does have a sandy bottom which was nice. The Valentin Imperial Maya is approximately 20 minutes by taxi to Playa del Carmen and approximately 30 minutes to Cancun, where there are a number of restaurants and shopping opportunities.
We also did the Tulum Extreme which took you to the Mayan Ruins, snorkeling in a cenote, rapelling, and zip-lining (lunch included).
The trip to Tulum was about an hour but well worth it.
We could basically read in the room at night with no lights on.
I was able to stuff a pillow into it to block most of the light. Many dishes can be cold that are under the heaters.
The Valentin is about 20 minutes away from Playa del Carmen.
You can ride the Valentin shuttle for .00 per person round trip.
(Examples- back sliding door didn't latch properly, sink faucet handles were loose, toilet seat lid fell right off the toilet every time you opened it!
, etc.) These things weren't a huge deal, but it was surprising given how extremely nice the rest of the resort was. We had no issues with the upkeep or landscaping and the beach is kept clean.
Look whose makin' a splash: Valentin Imperial Maya, one of 11 Cheap Caribbean Noble Beach Prize Winners (2015-16), was recognized for the category of "The Pool that Rules." You'll get along swimmingly with this resort rock star.
