YET, there has been much promotion by people here at the Datalounge that Whitney just couldn't be gay; that she was so in love and even obsessed with Bobby Brown.Puleeeeze."Scott Caan is just too masculine to be gay. I've known gay men who were as masculine as Scott Caan. I've known a lot of actors (both gay and straight) who are significantly less macho in their real lives than they appear onscreen.I think the poster even mentioned Golan Cipel's name."Yes, he and Golan were outed on the DL at least a few months before Jim came out[quote]Nancy Mc Keon's had rumors swirling about her for decades.
In any case, for some reason people want to pretend that DL never has any true gossip, and that's as stupid as claiming our rumors are always correct.[quote]I don't remember rumors about Reeve at all - I think whatever was discussed came from that movie he made with Michael Caine where they played lovers. I actually asked about Reeve in my first post on DL (and got flamed crispy).
Then at one point fetishboy had a site that listed a bunch of people with comments beside their names.
The network will begin to in him, dropping stories here and there (maybe hinting that him and his female co-star are, to put it in the PR term always used, "getting cozy")I remember when Sarah Paulson was on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and a story appeared in the press about her and co-star Matthew Perry. There have been rumors about Whitney since her first CD came out in 1985.
and that they were "getting cozy" in a restaurant or some such shit. I think the network and her PR people planted the story, thinking that the only people who really knew about her and Cherry were the gay community. It's been speculated that Clive Davis got her with Bobby Brown to make her appear blacker and straighter.
And there are still some idiotic straight men who don't think she's gay.
As a gay man, I find the whole 'she's too pretty too be gay' argument, just as ridiculous and homophobic as the 'he's too masculine to be gay' argument.
I actually remember the Portia rumours, there were some on DL saying she was gay and dating Francesca Gregorini, but most people didn't believe it.
Then the pap pictures of them getting cozy in that alley and in France came out and there were still some naysayers (though I think they were mostly straight men, as the naysaying was of the 'oh, she's too pretty to be gay' variety)Didn't matter anyway, as she came out a short time later.
Amusingly, here's some of the responses when someone innocently asked if he was gay on (before he came out). I was hearing rumors about her and Jodie (the one I knew was closeted) back during the heyday of The Accused. Her own ex-husband and in laws have confirmed it, which still could leave some doubt, but is pretty damn good evidence.
