It would be most helpful if a function was added to show how the existing statute(s) would be amended if the bill were passed (or was in fact, passed).
Helpful for those in the legislature who want to track how legislation is working its way through the legislature, but not very helpful to the public when trying to figure out how laws were in fact changed from year to year, or how a proposed bill would change existing law -- most people don't care about changes between different versions of the bill -- they only care about the overarching changes to the law.
